Its flow is superior, and the beat gets you into the song. The Return is structured just like it would come off one of the old mixtapes, and that is what makes it work. This was the official resurrection of Young Sinatra and boy did he come back stronger than ever. Right at the beginning, the infamous Sinatra tag appears, and when that happens you already know straight heat is about to be spit at you. The second single released, and once it dropped every fan damn near had a heart attack by what was coming next. Everybody Dies shows just how silky-smooth Logic can be when it comes to songs, this gets a 10/10. Logic then throws in a repeating “You are watching a master at work” that fans will remember from the mixtape days. The whole reason fans love Logic’s Young Sinatra alter ego is because of the flow of the lyrics and beat….and this song exemplifies that and then some. If you’re looking for a song that is focused on lyrics and a smooth flow and beat, I have your song. Next up is Everybody Dies which was the third and final single Logic released in anticipation to YSIV. Overall it has a nice meaning to it, while the beat really puts you in the feels for what’s to come, however if you are looking for a more lyrical approach this isn’t the song for you off this album. It’s a nice concept, and its actually a callback to a similar concept did back on Young Sinatra: Undeniable on a song called Worldwide in which he does the exact same thing. Afterwards he has fan’s messages put into the song telling Logic “thank you” and explaining what his music has done for each individual. The song itself is 30% song by Logic and the whole message is thanking the fans who have helped him get to where he is today. It picks up right where Logic’s last album Everybody left off, with Kai and Thomas wandering the planet “Paradise” searching for life while listening to Logic’s discography.
It opens with Thank You featuring Lucy Rose & The Rattpack (what Logic calls his fanbase). YSIV is a fourteen-track album that spans 1 hour and 16 minutes and is a love letter to all fans. “Young Sinatra” is Logic’s oldest alter-egos (think “Bobby Tarantino”) dating back to 2010 when Logic was an underground rapper from Gaithersburg, Maryland.īack then he started putting out his Young Sinatra mixtapes from 2010 beginning with “ Young, Broke &Infamous” followed by “ Young Sinatra” and the third installation of the Young Sinatra trilogy with “ Young Sinatra: Undeniable” All projects are beloved with hardcore fans who have been following Logic since the beginning, and he always knew the fans would want one final send-off for Young Sinatra, and Logic knew he was going to do just that. YSIV obviously stands for Young Sinatra 4 which is Logic’s fourth major studio album and the fourth and final entry in his Young Sinatra mixtapes. Logic utilized NaS’ famous lyric in everyone of his Young Sinatra mixtapes, and on September 28th, 2018….he brought it back one last time as a gift for all his fans. until a young rapper decided to make that his most famous sample of all time. Those seven words forever immortalized by NaS….
